Are Rising Costs Hurting You?

Most people have felt the pinch since the RBA once again increased interest rates in an attempt to control inflation. Combine that with the highest prices we’ve ever seen at the petrol pump and the rising cost of groceries and it would seem we have something to complain about.

Global factors have only added to the pain with the U.S sub prime mortgage crisis contributing to the slaughter of several companies on our own soil and those who were highly geared.

As a result we have watched our Stock Market take a few dives as panicked investors dump their stocks to run a mile, not quite confident enough to return in the droves they ran with, in turn signaling an end to the Bull run we have enjoyed over the last few years.

I want you to think about this logically for a minute though… what happened to all that money that was circulating a year ago in the Stock Market? Where do you think it all went?

Surely it can’t just disappear can it? Money doesn’t disappear, it just leaves the hands of those who don’t know what they’re doing and ends up in the hands of those who know exactly what they are doing!

You see while most people have been gripped by fear thanks largely to the media reports of impending doom and gloom, there are those who have been laughing all the way to the bank!

Anyone who has attended our Trading Wisely seminar would know people do this by trading the Stock Market in such a way that they can profit even when share prices are falling. And the great news is that it does not require a lot of money to begin doing it.

I am talking about Options Trading using Stock Options.

There are two types of Stock Options and they only cost a fraction of the stock they relate to.

  • A Call Option increases in value as the share price rises.

  • A Put Option increases in value as the share price falls.

Options Trading is the process of buying Stock Options - to sell them at a profit once they have increased in value.

Let me give you an example of how affordable stock options can be and how they can be used as an effective income strategy…

Let’s say that one of our big banking stocks was trading at around $55.00 and your analysis confirmed what the media had been saying and you decided it may fall in price. If you owned the stock then you would stand to lose quite a bit.

But if you were to buy a Put Option on that stock it might cost as little as $ 2.50 and that is the most you stand to lose if you get it wrong.

Assuming the share price did fall and in a few days your Put Option was now worth $ 10.00 then you could sell it to realise your profit. So for an outlay of $ 2.50 you would make $ 7.50 when everyone else is running the other way!

Can you imagine listening to the morning news announce how much oil has gone up per barrel overnight, or that interest rates are to go up again and getting excited at the thought?

I used to work ridiculous hours in a corporate career with very little time for myself or my family and my only answer to getting ahead financially was to work even harder still. I remember the worry that came with each interest rate rise I endured back then.

Options Trading allowed me to leave that life behind and these days my ‘work’ is only a few hours each week on my home computer, and I know I can make an incredible amount of money as income regardless of what shape the economy is in.

In testing times we have a choice to tighten our belts and put our lives in other peoples hands with our fingers crossed, or we can adopt a different way of thinking and take advantage of the situation for our own benefit.

If you'd like to know how stock options can help you profit in our current market climate, then consider my up coming Trading Wisely seminar.  Click Here For More Information.
