I can’t believe how fast 2008 is taking shape, can you? It's February already! There is so much happening in so many areas. It’s quite exciting really, because it is the perfect year to get everything you want out of life. More details below. ______________________________________________________________ Identify & Eliminate What’s Holding You Back! This is your year. It’s your time right now. The year of YOU! It’s time to grow, time to get everything you’ve ever wanted from your investment portfolio and make a positive change to your lifestyle. We’ve all heard the old saying ‘in the right place at the right time’ but with a little help, you can actually put yourself there. Before you can do that though, you need to identify what’s holding you back. And, get past it! You know, before I was able to achieve the lifestyle of freedom I now live, I got so bogged down in the daily grind of working endless hours with very little to show for it (except high stress levels). Eventually it dawned on me where I was going wrong. I identified 4 barriers that were limiting my investment portfolio growth. Do any of these strike a chord with you? 1. Lack of Strategy or The Wrong Strategy It’s vital that you have the right growth strategy in place. That strategy includes your overriding plans, goals, financial targets and long-term objectives. Example: If you’re building your investment portfolio to retire in 5 years with x amount of dollars, you may have an entirely different strategy to an investor who’s planning to build a portfolio that is more long term for passing on to the next generation. The right strategy will fast track your portfolio, and your quality of lifestyle. 2. Lack of Action Far too many investors are “Getting ready to get ready!”. They never do anything. Never get off the launching pad. Many different reasons keep investors from taking action. They can include: fear, lack of knowledge, perfectionism, a perceived belief of not enough money, and other “barriers”. The end result is the same. The investor fails to get started, and therefore never reaches their goals. Take action today. Do something. Move forward at least one step. 3. Lack of Scalability If you build an investment portfolio without scalable systems in place, you’ll ultimately hit a wall. Growth will stagnate and stall. You’ll wonder why your portfolio isn’t getting any larger or continuing to grow. You need to create an investment model that includes proper systems in place that can grow with you. That way you can be just as effective with an investment portfolio of $1 million dollars to one with $10 million dollars. 4. Lack of follow-through Sometimes my investor mind jumps from one investment opportunity to another faster than bees between flowers. Yours probably does too. We have to deal with that. That means finding the discipline to “stick to it” and follow through on your goals, objectives, plans, strategies and tactics. It is all too easy to get side tracked with your current circumstances, but in order to change those circumstances you just can’t make excuses.
